American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program
June 26, 2012
Miners Bank is pleased to announce that on Friday, June 29, 2012, we will begin a fundraising campaign to raise funds for the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program.
The lack of transportation to medical appointments has become a major problem for thousands of cancer patients. Often family or friends drive cancer patients to and from treatment. However, due to time or financial burdens, they may not be able to assume total responsibility of transportation for treatments. Cancer patient transportation has been a service offered by the American Cancer Society in many parts of the country since the 1960s. And, the Road to Recovery is a program of volunteers who provide transportation for cancer patients. This program is a free service offered to cancer patients who have no means of transportation and/or are too ill to drive themselves .
Miners Bank would like to sponsor a vehicle, which will be used to transport the patients. Our sponsorship goal is $4,000. We hope to meet our goal through customer and employee donations.
If you would like to donate, please visit any of our locations! See the links below for more information about this program, vital to the health of our neighbors and our community !!
